Find X Analytics, Twitter's Replacement, Hiding Behind a Paywall
I wrote about Twitter Analytics back in 2016, but so much has changed since then! If you’re wondering how to measure your Twitter/X performance these days, read on:
Yes, Account Analytics is still available for your X profiles. Unfortunately, the only way to access them is to upgrade your X membership. Neither the free account nor the Basic Tier has this perk, however, so you’ll need to sign up for the Premium or Premium+ Tier. Premium will cost you $8/month and Premium+ costs $16/month. Each has other perks, so only you can decide if the service is worth the price.
So what else is available to small business owners for measuring your X performance? Here are a couple of suggestions:
Talkwalker
This tool lets you compare your results against competitors and track how your business is being talked about across many social networks, including X. This is called “Social Listening.” A free Social Search option at Talkwalker lets you try it out. Otherwise, expect to pay around $9,000 per year for their basic plan, which includes other services.
Hootsuite
If you already use Hootsuite, you already have access to some of Talkwalker’s tools as Hootsuite acquired Talkwalker earlier this year. It is available at every level of Hootsuite membership, including the free 30-day trial, although some of the advanced tools are add-ons. Access Talkwalker through your Hootsuite dashboard.
Later
Like Hootsuite, Later offers a dashboard for scheduling your X posts, which used to be called “tweets” when it was Twitter. Later also monitors your performance and provides reports, a feature available at all levels. “Starter” is the least expensive option, starting at $16.67/month with four months free.
While X has the lowest cost of all these, keep in mind that the others include other social platforms in addition to X. Consider your needs when deciding on an X analytics tool.
Of course, if you outsource your social media marketing, they will use their own tools, which may make more sense. Talk with the Sprocket Websites team to learn more about how you can offload these tasks and gain better reporting tools at the same time. We’re happy to partner with you!
