This week, Pinterest announced the rollout of buyable pins for U.S. Android users. Back in June, Pinterest announced buyable pins for iOS users as well. With Pinterest serving as a huge site for retailers and shoppers, it’s no wonder that they’re putting this sort of tool to use. Because about eighty percent of people buying things on Pinterest are doing so via mobile, buyable pins are a very smart and clear next step. They also announced The Pinterest Shop this week. The Pinterest Shop will serve as an opportunity for people to find collections of buyable pins that are handpicked by Pinterest.

After checking them out, I’ve got to say that it is a big improvement over the previous capabilities. Changes include better personalized search suggestions and the addition of public posts and conversations.  These changes could mean some very interesting things for content marketers.
