New Year Goals Are Top-Of-Mind for the Sprocket Team. What Is Your Team Planning?
First in a series
Tossing out the old year calendar is so satisfying! Now, what great things can we accomplish before December rolls around again? Find out what Sprocket is going to do and maybe get inspired yourself!
While our team is always discussing what to change next, way too often we are victims of The Shoemaker’s Children Syndrome. You know the story: When shoemakers are so busy making shoes for other people, they never find the time to make shoes for their own children. Naturally, our clients’ projects always come first, so our own projects sometimes wind up on the back burner.
Sprocket is in a good place now to knock off a few of the To-Dos on our list, so we’re looking forward to making some updates and upgrades and taking a really deep dive into some of the latest tools and techniques, including the new Google Analytics, GA4.
Since digital marketing is evolving faster than ever, our plan is to do a bunch of research on what’s available to small businesses now, in 2023. We’ll consult expert opinions, investigate best practices, and then apply what we’ve learned to our own business. If you follow along over the next months, we’ll give you our honest opinion about what worked, what wasn’t worth the effort, and what kind of investment was required.
Sure, we have a couple decades of digital marketing experience already, but one of this year’s goals is to challenge ourselves by relying less on what’s familiar and explore more fully the latest recommendations. That said, not every shiny new thing will be right for every small business, and we’ll give you our opinion on that, too.
First, of course, the team will agree on a vision of how Sprocket should look by the end of the year. That’s the fun part! Then we’ll plan how digital marketing will help us reach that goal. That takes more work. Finally, we’ll figure out how to measure our achievements along the way, which can be tricky.
Check in to follow our progress! If you’ve been hesitant to invest in digital marketing for your own business, here’s an opportunity to learn from our experiments. And please feel free to share your own marketing experiences. We’d love to hear your opinions on what did or didn’t work for you.
