Updating Websites During Emergencies
Will County Health Dept. Keeps Citizens Informed
These April showers are causing a state of emergency in northern Illinois. As people's homes started flooding, questions started flooding in as well.
- Is this water contaminated with sewage?
- Are there other unhealthy organisms I should be aware of?
- Do I need a tetanus shot?
- Where do I get one?
- What should I do if my power is out?
Will County Health Department staff immediately responded to the emergency with answers to these questions, posting articles on their website to help as many people as possible. A news module incorporated into their site gives them the ability to post as easily as changing their Facebook status, updating the website with new information quickly without having to nag the IT department or a webmaster to get it done. As the "news" becomes "olds," the posts can be deleted, indexed or archived as needed.
This DNN news module makes updating websites promptly a simple task so governmental and other organizations can be responsive to their constituents.
