This week, Pinterest announced the rollout of buyable pins for U.S. Android users. Back in June, Pinterest announced buyable pins for iOS users as well. With Pinterest serving as a huge site for retailers and shoppers, it’s no wonder that they’re putting this sort of tool to use. Because about eighty percent of people buying things on Pinterest are doing so via mobile, buyable pins are a very smart and clear next step. They also announced The Pinterest Shop this week. The Pinterest Shop will serve as an opportunity for people to find collections of buyable pins that are handpicked by Pinterest.

We've been talking lately about how hot content marketing is right now.  It's extremely important nowadays to have strong, original content linking back to your brand and your website.  People are looking for information -why not let your company be the one who supplies it?  While the idea of content marketing might be a simple one; actually executing original content is another matter altogether.  My advice is to either hire someone to write your posts for you (we actually offer that service... for the record...) or teach yourself the tips for writing a great blog on your website.

Nobody wants to be pitched to, sold to, advertised at, etc. We’ve been there. We’ve seen and done that. We are in the age of fast forwarding through every commercial –to the point where watching live TV can be downright painful. We skip computer ads. We hang up on telemarketers. We don’t have time for that. We know what we want and, if we’re looking for a certain product or service, we’ll go find it for it ourselves thank you very much. Enter content marketing.

This article has been updated on 5/15/2019 with the article entitled "NetWORKing: The Most Powerful Business Tool"

Networking is work, let’s face it.  If you’re new to the game, you’re walking into a room full of strangers and trying to sell your business.  In reality, you’re trying to sell yourself.  You are the face of what you’re representing.  Therefore, you’ve got to network confidently and often.  It’s OK, wipe off your sweaty palms and listen in.  The first time I went to a networking event I was more than slightly terrified.  I’m not a shy person by any means; so, I can only imagine what it would be like if I were.  I felt a small victory every time I exchanged a business card.  My total count for the end of the night?  About 6.  Laugh away, but I felt a rush of confidence after that event.  I think the idea of walking into a room full of people you don’t know and having to approach each one of them is more than a little unnerving.  One thing that I don’t doubt, however, is that networking is invaluable.  It is an amazing tool for small businesses to meet the community, find other businesses who might be able to use their services, and make their name recognizable.  Word of mouth and a face to a name is a powerful tool in the business world; connections often prove priceless.   So, I say to you –chin up, head high, gather your wits, and say hello.
