Prep Your Facebook Page for the Holidays

The Sprocket Report

This is an update to "No Place Like Facebook for the Holidays?” dated 12/4/2013.

Most wonderful or not, it’s that time of year again. The holidays spur purchases from gifts and decorations to food and clothes. And where do people look for deals, specials, and inspiration? Why, on social media of course! So is your Facebook page ready?

Nearly every business or organization can benefit from seasonal marketing. Think blog posts, gift certificates and good will branding. Start by sprucing things up on your Facebook page to look festive. Try switching out your profile or cover photos. Keep the pictures representative of your brand, but add a little seasonal flair.

Last year, holiday Facebook users posted to and about retailers 55% more often than they did during the rest of the year. While we aren’t all retailers, today’s shoppers are looking for more than the ordinary, which your business might be able to provide. Let your customers know to check you out for special holiday offers, promotions, and events by decking the virtual halls of your Facebook page attractively and appropriately. https://sproutsocial.com/insights/holiday-retail-data/

Once you have their attention, what will you offer them? Consider holiday-themed events. End-of-the-year sales. Pre-season deals. Gift certificates. Promote your special offers on Facebook and send them to your website to learn more and buy. (Hint: That means updating your website, too!)

Get creative and try thinking like your customer. What product or service do you have that you would make a great gift option? How can you help clients get a jump on 2020’s budget? Take a look at what other companies offer and build on their ideas.

If you want to take advantage of this seasonal marketing boost but don’t have the time, just contact us. The Sprocket social media marketing team is happy to help you plan and implement your holiday strategy.

Every other Tuesday, Sprocket sends out the Sprocket Report, our latest business tip or our reaction to what's currently happening in Internet Marketing.

You'll read a web marketing tip from Kate, another one from Breanne, and - bonus! - we always have a guest post as well.

That's three valuable posts that you can read, plus a quick look at upcoming events and what's being said on Twitter. A great synopsis!

You'll want to get this newsletter for yourself, in your own inbox, so here's how. It's easy!

Scroll back up and put your email in the box. OR scroll to the bottom of each page. We have our newsletter subscription box there, too!

We NEVER give out your email address to anybody else, and we don't flood you with ads. It's just good, free information.
