Integrating Your Social Media Marketing and Email Marketing Together

This article has been updated on 9/27/2022 with the article entitled “Unite Social and Email to Give Your Marketing a Leg Up.”

Do you have a social media presence? Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.? Do you also have a blog, newsletter, or email campaign of some sort? These should all tie in to each other! When you are promoting you, you need to be thorough. Make yourself overly available to your customers and clients. Do you want to lose business because someone couldn’t figure out how to connect with you on Facebook or how to get discounts that you might only give out with a newsletter subscription? I don’t think so. It’s incredibly important that you are accessible to your clients and customers and that you make being able to connect with you a no brainer to accomplish.

Here are two ways that you can make sure your social media marketing efforts and email marketing efforts are complimenting one another and making it easier for the client to connect with you:

1st: Make sure that your email marketing campaigns give direct access to your social media accounts. Whether you have a newsletter, blog, or just email ad –be sure that you have social icon buttons that directly link to your social media accounts. Also, have a call to action. This can be: “LIKE” us over on Facebook! or Be Sure to “Follow” us over on Twitter! Etc. Lastly, if you have written an article or content that will lead back to yourself, integrate share buttons so that they can share your article on Facebook or some other platform to expand your audience and get you some more views. Make sure that you are asking and eliciting some sort of interaction from readers. That’s great if they read your content, but don’t you want more than that? Get some conversions or at least an extra follow on Twitter!

2nd: Once your email campaign is decked out with all of your social media links and icons, be sure that you are promoting your newsletter/blog/etc. on your social media outlets. Cross promotion is big and asking fans to subscribe to your newsletter is a great step to gaining a bigger email marketing audience. If possible, on a page like Facebook, you can provide a direct link or subscription button. I’d suggest putting it on your social calendar to promote your newsletter or blog at least once a week at different times so that you are reaching new audiences all the time. Make it easy with a direct link to your subscription page.

However your business is out there on the interwebs should all be integrated. Your website, your social media presence, your newsletter, your blog, etc. etc. etc. Don’t make it a challenge for potential customers or clients to connect with you. Make it simple. Look at it from the perspective of a first time person reading your email or visiting your Twitter page. Can you access the other channels you are available on? No? Fix that.

Sprocket Report

Every other Tuesday, Sprocket sends out the Sprocket Report, our latest business tip or our reaction to what's currently happening in Internet Marketing.

You'll read a web marketing tip from Kate, another one from Breanne, and - bonus! - we always have a guest post as well.

That's three valuable posts that you can read, plus a quick look at upcoming events and what's being said on Twitter. A great synopsis!

You'll want to get this newsletter for yourself, in your own inbox, so here's how. It's easy!

Scroll back up and put your email in the box. OR scroll to the bottom of each page. We have our newsletter subscription box there, too!

We NEVER give out your email address to anybody else, and we don't flood you with ads. It's just good, free information.
