Increase Social Media Marketing Productivity

DIY Sprocket Solutions

Social media isn’t slowing down any time soon. It’s up to marketers to keep up the pace and make sure that all of their bases are covered. The problem is that it’s easy to be swept up in the streams, platforms and never ending chatter. Here are a few tips to increase your productivity as a social media marketing manager.

Set a Schedule and Keep It

It’s very likely that you are running multiple campaigns for multiple businesses on social media. This means several different social media platforms to check in on every day, multiple posts to schedule with multiple focuses, and much more. If you set a schedule and “check in” in periodic increments, then you save yourself from getting lost down the rabbit hole. You can set your schedule for what works best for your own marketing plan. You may want to check in once every other hour, or you may want to check in 3 times a day. Setting a schedule will help you stay on task, stay away from distraction, and remember to check all of your boxes throughout the day so you don’t miss any items on your to do list.

Segment Social Media Feeds

Feeds on different platforms, like Twitter, are often cluttered with a melting pot of different connections. These connections can range from industry related Twitter friends, colleagues, competitors, and more. Segmenting your social media feeds your into different types of connections allows you to follow specific groups at the right times. This cuts down on distraction and helps you to focus on the projects that you need to be completing at the moment.

Track, Measure, and Adjust

Perhaps the most important social media marketing productivity that I can offer is to track, measure, and then adjust your practices. Spending months and then years doing the same things and making no headway is no way to effectively market. Whether you’re handling two different social media accounts or twenty, you should be paying attention to the metrics. Track and measure what you’re doing right and also what is giving you zero return, then take that information and adjust your marketing plan moving forward.

What seem to be your biggest productivity killers throughout the day? How can you avoid these issues? What are you already doing in your marketing plan that you think saves you the most time? Comment below!
