How the Tech-Averse Can Re-Imagine Their Business Online

When the present has been upended and the future is so unclear, many small biz owners want more of a digital presence. But the challenges of technology and cost can be overwhelming. In this look-back article, we’ll address those concerns.

Back in 2012, Breanne wrote:

The great beast that is the internet is a tricky business tool to maneuver, especially for those of us who aren’t as computer literate as others. “Where to start?!” is a common and completely reasonable question.

Today, there are so many educational opportunities available on the internet. Maybe too many, since it’s hard to sort out what’s useful from the junk.

There are so many paths to take to make sure your business is a success, but figuring out which will have the greatest payoff can take some good old fashioned trial-and-error.

This is still true, but when you start out informed about your options, stay focused on your goals, and keep reacting to your analytics, you will see consistent progress.

Everyone wants to have a successful business, and although it can be intimidating, that means having a well-oiled website and a great social media standing.

Obviously, being online has never been more important, but is it possible to be a web designer, an SEO expert and a social media manager while also running your own business?

To be completely honest, I’ve been known to refer to myself on multiple occasions as “technologically challenged.” The more I’ve worked my way around the online business world, however, the more I’ve learned.

Since she wrote this post, Breanne has become an expert at Facebook, Facebook advertising, Instagram, Pinterest and other social media platforms. For some clients, she manages everything. For others, she handles a specific ongoing campaign with the client writing daily posts and interacting with the audience. For still others, Breanne sets up the platforms correctly and then trains the client to be their own social media manager. She has also trained new team members for Sprocket.

Whether you’re tech savvy or tech illiterate we’ll take one step at a time and figure out how to make it work for you. The best part is that if you ever get stuck, Sprocket team members are pros -- and that’s a lot of back up!

Sprocket Websites has never been about selling a commodity, although that would be an easier business model. Instead, we have always wanted to be a partner in your success. We know 2020 is not “business as usual,” but business still needs to get done. If you want to do more online and want help, give us a call and let’s talk!

Every other Tuesday, Sprocket sends out the Sprocket Report, our latest business tip or our reaction to what's currently happening in Internet Marketing.

You'll read a web marketing tip from Kate, another one from Breanne, and - bonus! - we always have a guest post as well.

That's three valuable posts that you can read, plus a quick look at upcoming events and what's being said on Twitter. A great synopsis!

You'll want to get this newsletter for yourself, in your own inbox, so here's how. It's easy!

Scroll back up and put your email in the box. OR scroll to the bottom of each page. We have our newsletter subscription box there, too!

We NEVER give out your email address to anybody else, and we don't flood you with ads. It's just good, free information.
