People are noticing, and further, people are engaging. So, when it comes to creating email lists, how should small businesses go about collecting email addresses to expand their email marketing lists?

There are a several strategies that small businesses can use to grow their lists. A strategy for continued growth is the best tool in your toolbox. Here are a few more:

  • Create a pop-up on your website so that new visitors are prompted to enter their email addresses. You can create any sort of incentive that you think would persuade visitors to enter this information. Many businesses collect email addresses in exchange for a newsletter sign up. Many businesses collect email addresses also in exchange for a percentage off of the products or services they’ll be purchasing.
  • Offer incentives to social media followers who subscribe to your email list.
  • Include an opt-in link at the bottom of every email and correspondence you send.
  • Offer valuable content such as e-books, video tutorials, interviews, podcasts and more for free to those who subscribe to your email list.
  • Include an email subscription for those who become customers or clients and those who register for accounts with your business.
  • Include a sign-up box on each available social media channel.
  • Use paid advertising to promote your opt-in link to subscribe to your email list across social media channels.
  • For brick and mortar stores, include an opportunity to subscribe to your email list wherever you can. This can include: at checkout, in exchange for a rewards program, to join a birthday or anniversary club, in exchange for being entered into a promotion, for a percentage off of purchase, and more.

That's three valuable posts that you can read, plus a quick look at upcoming events and what's being said on Twitter. A great synopsis!

You'll want to get this newsletter for yourself, in your own inbox, so here's how. It's easy!

Scroll back up and put your email in the box. OR scroll to the bottom of each page. We have our newsletter subscription box there, too!

We NEVER give out your email address to anybody else, and we don't flood you with ads. It's just good, free information.
