Why Create a LinkedIn Company Page

This article was updated on 8/27/2024 with the article entitled “5 Reasons Why Your Small Business Should Have a LinkedIn Page.

You may already have a LinkedIn Personal profile. Most professionals do. You might also have heard that having a LinkedIn Company page isn’t going to inspire a huge influx of leads and business. While this may be true to a point, creating a Company Page on LinkedIn still has several benefits. The goal isn’t to replace your personal profile, but rather to give your customers or connections the opportunity to learn more about your company and about what you do.

Think about it this way; are you more likely to use a company that you can research online or a company that you know nothing about? The same is true on LinkedIn. Regardless of whether we’re talking about a large corporation or a (very small) business. Having a LinkedIn Company page adds some professional credit in your corner. If someone is looking at you as a potential hire, they will be looking to do research into the company you’ve been at to see if you’re a valid candidate. It’s an extension of you. Almost like calling a reference.

Having a LinkedIn Company Page also allows you to link your employees. This helps to provide you with organic exposure. The more employees you have, the more likely your page is to be seen. Each one of their personal profiles then becomes equipped with a link to your page.

As far as search goes, you should know that LinkedIn Company Pages are extremely SEO-friendly. The key is to select keywords that potential clients will search for. What are your products? What do your services include? Choose keywords based on these and use them throughout your descriptions.

So, as a business owner, having a LinkedIn Company Page is beneficial from several different angles. On the one hand, it is beneficial to you as a professional when people are researching you as a hire. On the other hand, it’s beneficial to you as a business owner because it’s a simple way to get your company in front of people who are searching for it. It’s also a way for your company to become a trustworthy brand, because it’s one that people can research further and find more details about.

In addition, LinkedIn itself is a professional platform. Why wouldn’t you want your business listed here? We’re not talking about having a professional profile on Tinder. This is a networking site for professionals. All it does to have your business authenticated on this platform is accredit you as a serious business.

If you’re on LinkedIn, and you have a business, there is no doubt that you should have a LinkedIn Company Page. No, you might not see a huge influx in customers. However, it definitely can’t hurt. Also, if stumbled upon by the right people, it can be extremely beneficial. At the very least, it’s something to consider.
