DotNetNuke Voted “Critic’s Choice”

Called "Best CMS for SMB" in past year

CMSCritic.com presented two separate Content Management System awards for 2012:  the People's Choice award and the Critic's Choice award. The People's Choice honor was awarded in November with popularity determined by online voting. DotNetNuke (DNN) received the most popular votes in the Small-to-Medium Business category.

On Monday, January 28, Mike Johnston of CMS Critic announced the Critic's Choice finalist and once again DotNetNuke was awarded the top spot. Johnston wrote:

"The Critic’s Choice Awards are our selections for what we feel are the best of breed in their respective areas. The winners are not limited to nominated systems and are selected, this year, by myself based on the following factors:  innovation, community, versatility and uniqueness."

DotNetNuke was Johnston's number one recommendation because of DNN's "ease of use, support, community activity (of which there is quite a bit), available opportunity for expansion of the CMS (plugins, etc) and innovation."

He went on to point out that “organizations use DotNetNuke to quickly develop and deploy interactive and dynamic web sites, intranets, extranets and web applications.”

Sprocket Websites focuses almost entirely on the DotNetNuke platform and managing director Don Gingold agrees whole-heartedly with Johnston’s assessment. “We chose DNN as our web-building framework because of those very traits. It lets us provide small-to-medium businesses with options that might otherwise be out of their reach.”

Sprocket partner Jim Nagy agrees. “DotNetNuke gives us the tools to build complex websites faster and more economically than with other platforms.”

Nagy recently opened a second Sprocket office in Newbury Park. Sprocket Websites first started in Chicago and is one of the organizers of the Chicago Area DotNetNuke User Group. (CADUG). CADUG welcomes DotNetNuke users of all levels to their monthly meetings to share technical expertise or to learn more about how this Content Management System can work for their businesses.
