Content Marketing Generates Three Times More Leads
DIY Sprocket Websites
I saw a post on Twitter recently with some great statistics. This post was generated from a talk given by Andy Lambert from the platform Content Cal at the UK’s three day social media marketing festival: Social Day UK 2018. What were the stats? 200 million people now use ad blockers. Content marketers experience 7.8 times more site traffic. And, while content marketing costs 62% less than outbound marketing, it generates more than three times as many leads. Content marketing is so incredibly important.
Great content is present at the heart of every successful marketing campaign. Because of this, content marketing is more important than ever. With the click of a button, people can hide ads from marketers using in-your-face advertising and sales tactics. Consumers are being marketed to at such a rapid rate that they are choosing to interact with brands that are genuine, authentic, transparent and friendly.
Content marketing focuses on adding value for the consumer. Content marketing wins out over paid advertising, three to one. These are amazing numbers. Especially when you consider the fact that content marketing has lower upfront costs and better long term benefits. People are using ad blockers to get out from under the thousands of advertising messages that are flying at them on a daily basis.
Because people are using the internet now, overwhelmingly, to get their news and be informed –doesn’t it make sense to have your brand share content that is relevant and informational to both your brand and to your potential customers? You are offering information that a consumer needs in exchange for a building of trust between consumers and your brand. You are growing into an authority and an expert on your subject matter. This trust converts.
This isn’t even touching on the great SEO benefits that content marketing offers to content creators. Fresh, relevant and original content is a great way to boost SEO. You are using terms, keywords, themes and more that are significant in search results. As with everything, consistency is key.
If you want to see the benefits of content marketing, you have to remain consistent in creation and relevant in topics and keywords. Remember that content creation is still marketing. Find the need that you can fill for your customers. Build content that centers around this need and allows the opportunity for a relationship to flourish between you and your customer.
