5 Free Infographic Making Sites

DIY Sprocket Solutions

This article has been updated on 7/6/2021 with the article entitled “Create Your Own Eye-Catching Infographics for Easy Sharing.”

Infographics have been huge for awhile now. It’s not difficult to tell why –they are great visuals that usually pack a lot of easy to read statistics or facts. Infographics are a great visual cue for the content that you’re providing to your readers. Many times, the infographics themselves are substantial enough to work as relevant content of their own.

But, making these little beauties has got to be pretty complicated and expensive right? I mean, that’s a whole lot of visual going on there. Well, I’m not sorry to say, you’d be wrong in that assumption. There are several websites out there that offer up free templates and design tools to customize your data into some pretty awesome infographics.

Here are a few:

1. Easel.ly: This tool starts you off with a dozen free templates to choose from. You have the ability to plug in your content and customize font, images, text sizes, etc.
2. Piktochart: This is a great tool to use, especially if you have several infographics you’d like to make. Piktochart has three free basic themes that you can customize and use. Beyond that, they offer an account option of $29/mth for tons of templates, themes, fonts, images, etc.
3. Visual.ly: This one is a little different. It’s actually a community platform that allows you to create infographics to get them shared on social media.
4. Venngage: This tool is really great for creating infographics of your own. Choose from hundreds of options with themes, templates, charts, graphs, colors, images, etc. You can upload your own images as well.
5. Infogr.am: This site allows you to create interactive infographics by illustrating and editing your data. Downloading your infographic and sharing it with the world.

My suggestion would be to play around with a few and see what works for you. Some that offer more advanced plans for a monthly fee might turn out to be worth it to you if you love the tool and are happy with the results. Try a few. Do you have a go-to site for creating infographics? Have you not even made the plunge yet? Leave a comment below with your experiences (or lack thereof).
