3 Reasons to NOT Miss #DNNcon #DNN #DNNCMS

Hint: Don, Jim, and Scott!

If you're a web designer and/or developer and/or need a superior web platform, you should be in Baltimore on April 1 and 2 for DNNcon. We have 3 good reasons, all from Chicago DNN!

Our Chicago Style DNN user group will be well-represented at the conference. Sprocket is a founder company and two of us are speaking, The 3rd, also a Chicago DNN member, is also a DNN MVP!

Don Gingold of Sprocket will be giving a talk called "Selling DNN." Don and Sprocket have 8 years and 30,000 web pages of DNN experience and will be telling the attendees basically "how they did it." "How do we sell them on it? Many times we don't have to. Sometimes we play it up big. Occasionally we don't mention it at all. We'll show examples and how to decide what to pitch."

Jim Nagy of Sprocket has a talk called "DNN Made Easy with EasyDNN." Sprocket Websites, a long-time DNN integrator, has been delivering blogs, news systems and even complete websites using the modules and themes from Easy DNN Solutions. In this review, we'll show how to use the modules in clever ways, how to combine them to create great effects, and how to showcase a business with a rich skin design. A great set of tools are not without limitations, and we'll guide prospective users around the pitfalls we've encountered. We'll also be giving away a module, courtesy of Easy DNN Solutions.

Scott Wilkinson has a great deal of experience to share with developers about the new DNN8 module development techniques. His session called "To MVC or Not MVC" will explore the challenges, gotchas, and lessons learned in developing a module using the new MVC approach. In addition to learning about MVC development, he will compare MVC to the Webforms and SPA development techniques and show which applications are best suited by each style.

Now there's a hat trick for you! (couldn't resist slipping in a reference to world champion Blackhawks!, speaking of great things from Chicago :-)  Hope to see you there.

Sprocket Report

Every other Tuesday, Sprocket sends out the Sprocket Report, our latest business tip or our reaction to what's currently happening in Internet Marketing.

You'll read a web marketing tip from Kate, another one from Breanne, and - bonus! - we always have a guest post as well.

That's three valuable posts that you can read, plus a quick look at upcoming events and what's being said on Twitter. A great synopsis!

You'll want to get this newsletter for yourself, in your own inbox, so here's how. It's easy!

Scroll back up and put your email in the box. OR scroll to the bottom of each page. We have our newsletter subscription box there, too!

We NEVER give out your email address to anybody else, and we don't flood you with ads. It's just good, free information.
