#DNN Superheroes Survey #DNNWorld Location

Where will the dynamic website duo stay?

Don Gingold 0 4011 Article rating: No rating

High above Lake Buena Vista, Florida, in the cloaked vessel Sprocket Rocket, our dynamic web content duo Sprocketeer and TechMan survey the land around Buena Vista Palace, where #DNNWorld 2012 will be commencing in less than a week.

"Plenty of rooftop, for easy access to the conference, and with it cloaked, the Sprocket Rocket won't be seen" says TechMan.

But the Gallant Gearhead had a different idea. "Don't forget that Sprocket Rocket is submersible, so an underwater lair is NOT out of the question. After all, this is LAKE Buena Vista. Our costumes drip-dry. Maybe we'll meet Aquaman!"

TechMan, always more practical, countered. "Aquaman is usually in the ocean, and certainly not licensed on Disney property. Sub-mariner, maybe. Plus," pointing to the viewfinder looking down on the hotel and the small body of water next to it, "THAT is not Lake Buena Vista. I believe it's a retention pond."

Sprocketeer agreed. "A keen eye, old chum. The rooftop it is. Besides, I don't think they charge for rooftop rocket parking. Not yet at least."

Two More Superheroes Attending #DNNWorld

Who ARE those Orange Fighters of Web Justice?

Don Gingold 1 3769 Article rating: 5.0

From their secret web design lair, those Mighty Miniature Marvels of Content Management, Sprocketeer and TechMan, plan their trip to DNNWorld.

"It's in Orlando, right next to Downtown Disney. Do you think we'll find time to go see Mickey?" posed the Sprocketeer.

TechMan replied: "You know of course that even though he's a mouse, he's not actually our size."

"Right you are, old chum. We'll have to be careful. It'd be rather embarrassing to be stepped on ... by a mouse!" shot back Sprocketeer.

The web design crime fighters will continue their plans and preparations over the next week, and you'll be right there with them, true believers! Stay tuned!

Sprocket's Heading to Disneyworld!

When all else fails, and many other times as well... Script Injector

"I don't always program on a DNN site, but when I do, I prefer Script Injector." Would the Most Interesting Programmer in the World say this? Probably not, but it IS a good tool. Here's a situation where I wanted a diagram on a page to look like a normal paragraph and wrapped diagram, but with description text popping up when you hover over a particular section. Is there a module for that? The one I chose was Script Injector, and rolled up my sleeves...

A Good #DNNWorld Was Had By All!

Well, at least by me. I learned a great deal at DNN World and am very happy to have gone. Plus, where else would you hear the trends and the scoops about DNN, Microsoft, Internet and mobile technology than at a technical conference?

CMS Redefined at #DNNWorld

Don Gingold 0 3151 Article rating: No rating

CMS, regularly known as content management system, has been redefined to be cloud, mobile, social. Shaun Walker made the new definition at his keynote address and it was carried out in the classes for the rest of the day.

Jim and I attended as many classes as we could and even though there were three of them and two of us for each time slot, we certainly felt we learned a great deal. Here are some highlights.

When in Rome, er, #DNNWorld

Originally published 11/9 8:27a. Updated 9:30p. : When I was 12, my folks took me out of school in January and we drove from cold Chicago to warm Orlando to visit the newly opened Disney World (it was just Magic Kingdom back then). We stopped our day's driving just inside Florida's northern border, and I asked for a motel with a swimming pool. It was the outdoor type and it was 55 degrees out in Lake City, but hey, it was Florida, and well, "When in Rome...". Now fast forward 40 years.

Possible Development Business Forming at #DNNWorld

The conference hasn't started, and already we've had very good talks with Arrow Consulting, Creativa Consultants, and the Spiffy Web Team. We're looking for .Net developers for two big projects, and of course we thought of our friends and colleagues in the #DNNWorld, since they are some of the best .Net developers.
