Think you’re ready to take the jump and design your own website?  What’s next?  Choosing a color palette!  This is a much more important step to designing your website than you may think.  Arguably, one of the most important aspects of any design is its colors.  Sure, you want to gain some attention with your color choices but, you also want to make sure that it’s positive attention. 

You know those teeny little graphics that show up in your browser window next to the title of the web page you’re looking at? Technical and/or graphic folks may already have this covered, but for many of us, creating a favicon for our own website is pretty far down the to-do list. If you haven’t given it much thought before, maybe it’s time to reconsider this little doodad.

Creative people resist having to do “business” and business people are suspicious of anything that sounds “creative.” But the most successful entrepreneurs are creative people who embrace business and business people who think creatively. Are you using both sides of your brain to give your business the best chance at success? Is your website using both sides?

I just wanted to take a couple of minutes to point to the excellent graphics & artwork around the show that I noticed today. When Don and I were part of the team that put on the Day of DotNetNuke in Chicago last year, we know first hand all the moving parts that have to be completed and then double checked to ensure that everything is just perfect when everyone arrives. Graphics & artwork are important and when done right go mostly unnoticed, when done wrong they stand out like a sore thumb. This years graphics & artwork look great and should be recognized. Here are a few great examples that I took today.
